Applications for both the 2011 Honors Program and 2011 Summer Law Intern Program will be accepted online between August 16, 2010 and September 30, 2010. Candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, references and an unofficial law school transcript to OGCstaffing@dhs.gov .
The General Counsel’s Honors Program serves as the cornerstone for entry-level attorney hiring by DHS. Successful applicants are hired for a two-year term and will have the opportunity to work at multiple legal offices within the Office of the General Counsel. They will also be starting their legal career by addressing some of the most critical and challenging issues facing our nation today.
The 2011 Summer Law Intern Program (SLIP) places law students in positions which offer both valuable experience and substantial individual responsibility. Successful applicants will be afforded the opportunity to work in the different legal divisions within the Office of the General Counsel including Immigration, Regulatory Affairs, Operations and Enforcement, Legal Counsel, General Law, Technology Programs, National Protection and Programs, and Intelligence. They will interact with the client, attend legislative hearings, and meet with attorneys and representatives from other agencies over the course of the summer.
