LIFE AFTER LAW SCHOOL

THURSDAY, MARCH 31 FACULTY DINING ROOM

11 A.M. The Honorable Robert W. Hodges (JD 90), Fifth Judicial Circuit in and for Marion County, will discuss what he expects from attorneys in the courtroom and how to best prepare to stand before a judge. Hodges currently works on the family law docket. He was a state attorney after graduating from UF Law.

12 P.M. Information session by Fastcase, a free legal search engine for licensed attorneys in Florida. Pizza will be served.

2 P.M. Attorney Bill Beck (JD 07) will discuss what it takes to open a practice and how to be successful in a legal career. Beck, a solo practitioner, worked as a staff attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit and later started his own practice in Tarpon Springs.

A Panel composed of lawyers and students with various experiences working in legal aid will share their experiences with you. It is time for Family Law Society's 3rd annual Mix and Mingle! Please join us on Thursday February 17th from 5:30-7:30pm when we will be hosting our annual networking event. We have invited state attorneys, public defenders, judges, magistrates, divorce attorneys, DCF attorneys, Guardian ad Litem attorneys, collaborative law attorneys, adoption attorneys, mediators, legal aid attorneys and professors.

Join attorneys Robert Meek, Esq. (Jacksonville), Laura Ganoza, Esq. (Miami), and Lauren Valiente, Esq. (Tampa) to get the practitioner’s perspective on legal interviewing skills.
