The CCS kicks off the year strong with a calendar full of exciting programs. On the docket this week include

Judicial Clerkship Program

Tuesday at 12:00 (HOL 285D)

The OSCAR deadline is around the corner. How are your applications? Are your recommendations secure? Are you SURE you aren't missing anything from your application packets? Make plans to attend the Judicial Clerkship Program to ensure you remain competitive in the clerkship process.

Just like classes, your internship and job searches start now. Make sure you are not missing out on any of the helpful resources for starting off your job and internship search. Whether you want to be in-state, out-of-state, in a firm, in a government position, in a non-profit, or anything in-between . . . this program is for you!

Government Work Program

Thursday at 11:00 (HOL 283)

Come hear guest speaker, Stacy Scott, County Court Supervisor, speak on the benefits of government employment. The program will include valuable information on the ins and outs of applying to government internships and honors programs as well as information about an upcoming recruiting event with many government employers.

Wanted: Students Interested In Federal Practice

The local chapter of the Federal Bar Association is seeking two law student representatives to serve as liaisons between the organization and the student body.

Qualifications

(1) An interest in federal practice

(2) The ability to honor the time commitment.

The time commitment includes attending monthly board meetings (that will occur in the evening and during the lunch hour), one to two social events and two continuing legal education events off-campus as well as talking to students on campus about the organization and its events.
These positions provide a great opportunity to meet federal judges and law clerks. You also will be interacting with federal attorneys who practice in a wide range of areas such as government, criminal law, constitutional law, antitrust, immigration and more.

Part-Time Job Fair

Students interested in UF or Gainesville-area part-time employment are welcome to attend the Part-Time Job Fair on August 28, 2008.
